To all Emergency!
fans,
There have been
petitions, as well has hundreds of individual
message threads on several TVLand message
boards, asking -- practically begging and
sometimes even INSULTING -- TVLand to
return EMERGENCY! to their broadcast
schedule.
This is the
OFFICIAL standpoint: Universal Studios
Television controls who gets broadcast
rights to their shows. Right now, EMERGENCY! is
demonstrating serious response (sales) in the
DVD spectrum. For that reason, Universal has
revoked syndication rights to all NETWORKS
asking for the show.
Individual
stations may still get broadcast rights, or may
only be allowed to complete their current
contracts and not be permitted to renew.
NETWORKS like TVLand will not be given this
opportunity.
Further, it has
been announced this afternoon (11/28/06, 1440
ET) that Season 3 is being released on DVD on
February 13, 2007. Our continued demonstrations
of support have paid off. But now we must
continue that demonstration of support by BUYING
the S3 set beginning February 13, 2007.
Please do not
blame TVLand for something that is completely
out of their control.
I'll admit that I
cannot understand why some Universal titles have
not been "locked down" and TVLand is airing them
(like A-Team), but this explanation has been
posted numerous times by TVLand.
In return for our
patience, understanding, and interest, Universal
has honored our wishes.
